Agencies: Paris police leadership said in a tweet, "Police officers neutralized a person this morning who was carrying a white weapon at Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport."
The incident took place at passenger terminal 2F around 08:20 (06:20 GMT) in the morning when "a homeless person was disturbing security personnel, so border police reinforcements were called to remove him."
The man walked away while hurling insults, then turned and brandished a knife. A police officer opened fire towards him, according to police sources.
A photographer working for Agence France-Presse who witnessed the event recounted that "a tall man brandished something resembling a knife towards the police. He was warned but advanced, so the officer fired. One bullet was fired."
The victim was placed on a stretcher and transferred to an area not accessible to travelers, as the photographer explained.
