Parts of downtown Toronto dealt with major power outages Saturday afternoon as strong winds swept through the Greater Toronto Area.
Toronto Hydro also said power was out in the city's Esplanade area, specifically on Shuter Street south of Lake Ontario and on Yonge Street east to Cherry Street.
According to a map on the Toronto Hydro website, the outage affected up to 5,000 customers.
The police are also urging drivers and pedestrians to be cautious and expect delays due to power outages in those areas.
Meanwhile, a map on the Hydro One website shows there are more than 300 outages across the province affecting at least 38,000 customers.
The outage occurred as strong winds hit the city Saturday afternoon, prompting Environment Canada to issue a warning.
Also, the winds are expected to subside from west to east in the evening or tomorrow morning.
