Saudi Minister of Investment, Khalid Al-Falih, said that his country is working on enhancing partnership with Japan in several fields, through the signing of 26 agreements in various sectors between them.
The minister added, in an interview, on the sidelines of the official visit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to the Kingdom today, Sunday, that work is being done with Japan on several clean energy projects.
The Saudi Minister of Investment confirmed the great alignment with Japan on several issues.
Al-Falih also confirmed that the Japanese Prime Minister met with representatives of businessmen and businesswomen from Saudi Arabia and Japan, as he is accompanied by a large delegation including representatives of 44 major well-known Japanese companies and other emerging and innovative companies in multiple sectors.
The minister continued: "The Japanese Prime Minister spoke with business leaders about his vision to launch a new era in the Kingdom-Japan partnership towards Vision 2030, adding new elements centered around energy transition, climate, advanced materials manufacturing, batteries, and semiconductors, and he invited the business sector to invest in these partnerships that rely on new innovative technologies."
According to Al-Falih, Fumio Kishida spoke about his desire for the Kingdom to be a hub in the Middle East to become a base for supplying the world with clean energy, which aligns with initiatives launched by the Saudi Crown Prince in the energy sector, climate change efforts, as well as initiatives like the NEOM hydrogen project and Aramco projects.
Al-Falih also confirmed the great agreement in visions and future directions and the strong relationship between the two sides, which is heading towards higher levels of cooperation.
He said that 26 agreements were signed in various sectors including health, fintech, finance, exports, logistics services, tourism, entertainment, and information technology.
He affirmed the continuation of discussions and the aspiration for new deals and agreements during and after this visit.
