Rain is expected on Sunday which may affect the planned fireworks display at Commissioners Park.

Ottawa is experiencing mixed weather at the beginning of summer with rain, thunderstorms, humidity, and some cool temperatures as well.

The Victoria Day long weekend begins on Friday, with a mix of sun and clouds on Friday, May 20. The highest expected level will be 28 degrees Celsius, but it will feel like 33 degrees Celsius with humidity.

Environment Canada expects increasing clouds in the evening, with a 30 percent chance of rain and a risk of thunderstorms overnight. Winds of up to 50 km/h are also expected during the night with temperatures reaching 20 degrees Celsius.

Saturday will also start with moderate humidity, with the meteorological agency expecting a slight chance of rain in the early morning, followed by a sunny day with a high expected of 27 degrees Celsius. The sky will cloud over on Saturday evening with a 70 percent chance of rain overnight and humidity decreasing as the temperature drops to 14 degrees Celsius.

Sunday will be cold and humid with showers throughout the day and a high of 20 degrees Celsius.

As part of the Canadian Tulip Festival, there is a planned fireworks display at Commissioners Park at 10 PM on Sunday, weather permitting. Rainfall is expected to decrease sometime that evening, so this event may still proceed if the skies clear in time.

The long weekend is expected to end on Monday with a mix of sun and clouds, with a high of 19 degrees Celsius.
