Shortly after it was opened, the Rafah crossing was quickly closed again after 20 trucks from the Egyptian Red Crescent passed through this morning, Saturday, October 21, 2023.
The media office of Hamas in Gaza stated that the aid convoy that entered the strip today includes 20 trucks loaded with medicines, medical supplies, and a limited quantity of canned food.
It is also noted that humanitarian aid has been stuck in Egypt for days as Gaza sinks into a worsening humanitarian crisis, with rapid depletion of food, water, fuel, and medical supplies, all under continuous airstrikes.
It is expected that trucks carrying aid from the United Nations will be allowed to pass through the crossing next Monday.
