High winds and rain caused a power outage for 62,000 Hydro-Quebec customers on Thursday night. The hardest-hit areas were Mauricie, Laurentians, and Outaouais.
About 1,600 people in Montreal remained in the dark until 10 PM.

Many parts of the province, including Montreal and Laval, were also under a severe thunderstorm warning earlier in the evening.

Environment Canada also issued a tornado warning for Mont-Tremblant, Sainte-Agathe, and Vaudreuil, which has since ended.

As of 10 PM, only the Mont-Tremblant-Sainte-Agathe and Joliette-Farrell areas remained under a thunderstorm warning.

A severe thunderstorm warning is issued when an active or imminent storm is expected to produce large hail, damaging winds, or heavy rainfall.
