The Premier of Quebec, François Legault, confirmed that Quebec will welcome Ukrainian refugees fleeing the Russian invasion.
Legault posted on his Facebook page, "Quebec will play its role in welcoming Ukrainian refugees in the coming weeks and months."
He added, "I express my full solidarity with the Ukrainian people and those of Ukrainian origin residing in Quebec. We are also ready to provide as much humanitarian material assistance as possible. We are ready to welcome refugees and will continue to condemn this senseless war."
Legault strongly condemned the Russian attack. He added during a press conference on the sidelines of an economic announcement in Maniwaki that what President Putin is doing is completely unacceptable.
