With less than a week left until the elections, candidates in Simcoe North are working to cover as many areas as possible.

Liberal candidate Aaron Kayden Hilts said, "We have a relatively low voter turnout in Simcoe North, about 50 percent, so I think this highlights the mission that all parties have to undertake."

Lakehead student is taking his first step in office with plans to address affordability and make life easier for seniors and the next generation.

Kayden Hilts said, "These are people with real stories going through real problems, and we have a government that is unprepared to deal with that." "We need to pay more attention to the vulnerable in our community, the elderly, the youth, and patients in hospitals."

At the New Democratic Party campaign office led by Elizabeth Van Hout, signs started going back up again.

She said, "Some of our signs were damaged and some are missing at major intersections and shopping centers in Orillia." "It’s very concerning not only for me but also for the other parties, the Liberals and the Greens as well."

The social worker hopes that this, her third time running in the elections, she says she will not give up on her goals for her community.

Van Hout said, "In the past two years in my private clinic, I have listened to everyone's suffering." "They are worried about how they will pay for things and whether they will get healthcare or not."
