A blizzard is expected to spread in parts of southern Ontario with snowfall in some areas reaching up to 60 cm by the end of this week.

As of 6:24 AM, Environment Canada issued a statement that there is a blizzard in the Niagara area, saying that a snowfall of 60 cm is expected to cover the area. Snowfall will also begin tonight and continue until Sunday morning.

Also, the weather warning stated: "Consider postponing unnecessary travel until conditions improve, and if you must travel, inform others of your schedule and destination, and carry an emergency kit and a mobile phone."

Environment Canada also stated that visibility is near zero on the roads due to heavy snow and the storm, making road closures possible.

Niagara is not the only area experiencing snowfall this weekend, as the federal weather agency issued a blizzard warning for areas such as Barrie, Collingwood, Midland, Burk's Falls, Bruce Peninsula, Owen Sound, Kingston, Picton, Huntsville, and Simcoe.

Currently, there are no weather warnings for Toronto, but lighter snow may fall on the city, with Toronto having a 30 to 40 percent chance of flurries starting from Thursday to Sunday, with temperatures dropping to -6 degrees Celsius on Sunday night.
