A former senior official in the Mossad claims that the warning issued by Mossad chief David Barnea to Iran yesterday was in fact a message to the United States indicating that Israel has the freedom to act, even in the heart of Tehran.
Additionally, Haim Tomer, the former head of intelligence and operations in the Mossad, claims that the warning would not have been issued without the approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Tomer told Radio 103FM in comments reported by the “Walla” news site that “Barnea did not threaten the Iranians. He is serious enough to realize that this makes no sense; this has posed a threat to the Americans. Barnea reflects the sharp criticisms of the current American administration, telling the Americans that he has the freedom to act and that he is not concerned about what they are doing in Tehran or the nuclear issue.”
