Five people were injured, one of them in serious condition, in an explosion that occurred today, Saturday, in a building in the 18th district north of the French capital Paris, according to a source from the French police.
The explosion occurred on the top floor of a three-story building on "Dunor" Street in the 18th district of Paris; it led to part of the facade being shattered and five people being injured, according to firefighters from Paris who rushed to the scene immediately.
Residents of the building reported that they heard a loud explosion, which prompted about one hundred firefighters to arrive at the scene to tackle the risks of any potential fire breaking out and spreading.
Residents of the building were evacuated, and the police established a security cordon to prevent another incident.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown at this time.
