The Toronto Public Health is opening thousands of new appointments for Toronto residents to receive the updated monovalent Covid-19 vaccine as part of the "Flu and Covid-19" vaccination campaign this fall.

Public Health stated that 4,250 new appointments have been added at vaccination clinics at fixed locations, and an additional 8,500 appointments will be available in the coming days to help vaccinate Toronto residents before winter.

Who is eligible now?
The vaccination campaign will begin with priority groups, including individuals aged 65 and older, residents and staff in congregate living settings, pregnant individuals, children aged six months to four years, individuals belonging to First Nations, Inuit, or Métis communities and their families, members of racialized and other equity-deserving communities, and individuals with chronic health conditions.

Appointments can be booked at www.ontario.ca/book-vaccine.

Where can I get the updated Covid-19 and flu shot?
Public Health vaccination clinics in Toronto can be found at Cloverdale Mall, located at 250 East Mall, Metro Hall on Wellington Street near John Street, in the heart of downtown, North York Civic Centre at 5100 Young Street, and 410 Progress Avenue, near Scarborough Town Centre.

Mobile public health clinics in Toronto will now offer Covid-19 and flu vaccines to shelter residents and natural retirement communities, as well as clients of newcomer agencies. Flu vaccines will also be available at over 700 participating pharmacies for at-risk residents before being made available to the general public.

When will appointments be available for everyone?
Starting October 31, all Toronto residents will be eligible to receive the updated Covid-19 vaccine and annual flu vaccine at the same time at vaccination clinics or pharmacies or from primary healthcare providers. Members of the public will be able to book an appointment through Toronto Public Health starting October 25, and only one appointment will be needed to receive both the Covid-19 vaccine and the flu vaccine.

"Public health encourages all Toronto residents to get the Covid-19 and flu vaccines as soon as it's their turn. Getting vaccinated is an easy and effective way to protect yourself." Toronto Public Health stated in a press release on Tuesday that both vaccines are free for individuals aged six months and older who live, work, or go to school in Ontario.

Public Health confirmed that while an OHIP card is not required at public health clinics, it may be requested by other healthcare providers.
