A man from Toronto, whose neighbors disappeared eight years ago and left their house completely abandoned, said he is tired of living next to a house in complete disarray.

Wilf Navarrete lived in his home in northern New York, in the Shepard Avenue West and Young Street area, for 45 years, but he said the past eight years have brought him little happiness because every time he looks at his neighbor's property he sees complete chaos.

Navarrete added to CTV News Toronto: "It has been abandoned for about eight years. They disappeared, and no one knows what happened to them."

Navarrete also said he didn't know much about the couple who lived in the house, and had only a few casual conversations with them before they left. Since the house was abandoned, the roof has collapsed, the porch has caved in, and it is full of animals, with the property overrun by weeds and grass in the summer.

He continued saying that the animals, especially raccoons, moved from the cracked house and have now started entering his home, forcing him to spend money patching holes and repairing damage caused by raccoon digging in his home's foundation. He also paid out of his own pocket to trim hanging trees and repair damage to his basement caused by the roots of his neighbor's tree.

When CTV News Toronto visited the property this week, there was a notice from the City of Toronto posted on the front door, informing the homeowners that they are violating regulations due to grass in their yard being longer than eight inches.

Meanwhile, Navarrete said he is tired of dealing with his neighbors' problems and hopes the city finds a way to address the issue.
