In reflecting on the challenges and opportunities witnessed last year, Governor General Mary Simon said that Canadians showed solidarity to address the impact of climate change and to work on addressing the impact of the global conflict.
Simon also said that people adapt to change with creativity, resilience, and above all, good will.
She "calls on everyone to dedicate themselves to working with the force of good no matter how difficult the situation."
The Governor General also spoke in both English and French in her New Year's message.
