Who is Rosalynn Carter?

She was born on August 18, 1927, in a small town called "Plains," and her family consisted of four children, a father, and a mother. Rosalynn was the eldest of her siblings, but her father passed away when she was 13 years old. At that time, she worked with her mother in sewing to improve their financial situation.

Rosalynn joined the United States Naval Academy in 1945, then met Jimmy Carter in the city of "Annapolis" and they married in 1946.

Jimmy Carter as President of the United States of America

After the American couple married, they had about four children. During this period, Jimmy Carter was appointed as the President of the United States on January 20, 1977. His family grew as his children married, and the family expanded to 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. His term ended on January 20, 1981.

Rosalynn Carter in the world of politics

Being a mother of four children did not distract her from political life, and she engraved her name in American history. Rosalynn Carter became famous as soon as she arrived at the White House, specifically during her presence in the 1977 election campaigns.

She used to visit conferences and meetings as if she were the head of state or a personal envoy of the president to Latin American countries. She continued doing so until her husband's term ended in 1981.

She held the position of Vice Chair at the Carter Center in Atlanta, a center dedicated to promoting peace and human rights worldwide.

The moment of Rosalynn Carter's death and illness

The center stated in a previous statement several months ago this year that First Lady Rosalynn was suffering from "dementia" in May 2023.

Rosalynn lived happily all the time at the couple’s home in "Plains," Georgia, in the southern United States, and according to her obituary statement: "She died peacefully, surrounded by her family."
