The federal government is currently looking to fill these positions, offering good salaries starting around $100,000, but they require a specific set of skills, experience, and education.

From assessing asylum applications to flying aircraft in rescue operations, here are some unique jobs with the Canadian government currently available:

Aviation Regional Medical Officer (RAMO):

Location: Canadian Transportation Agency – Civil Aviation Medicine

Site: Various Locations

Salary: $192,630 to $212,134

Requirements: Degree from a recognized medical school and a medical license

Description: You should be prepared to travel and work extra hours, and you will also be able to work remotely and at a specified work site.

Design Manager (Architect):

Description: You will be responsible for deciding whether to accept or reject refugee protection applications made in Canada, and you will assist in planning and preparing for hearings related to asylum applications, utilizing effective interrogation techniques during hearings, and making timely decisions while explaining the rationale behind your decision.

Senior Marine Safety Inspector:

Location: Canadian Transportation Agency – Marine Security and Safety

Site: New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island

Salary: $100,209 to $116,802

Description: This job often requires local and regional travel, in addition to national travel occasionally, and as a Senior Marine Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting vessels to ensure compliance with regulatory laws, seaworthiness, and marine environmental protection, as well as issuing inspection certificates and investigating incidents and approving ship plans before construction.
