Firefighters in Windsor responded to a fire at the "Home Hardware" store on Tecumseh West Road at 11 PM on Thursday night.
Fire Chief Mike Koste stated that the damages are estimated at around $100,000, while Assistant Store Manager Christine MacDonald said that it started outside the building in a garbage bin, noting that she believes something exploded, and she mentions that most of the damage occurred outside the store, and that there is a lot of water inside the store due to firefighting efforts.
Store workers expressed their hopes of reopening the store by noon.
There have been no reported injuries, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
