The man accused of throwing gravel at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his 2021 election campaign will stand trial next March.
Shane Marshall from St. Thomas, Ontario is accused of assaulting Trudeau by throwing stones at him while he was on the campaign trail in London, Ontario, on September 6, before the federal election in the fall.
As previously reported by CTV News London, Trudeau had stopped during his campaign at a local brewery and when he got out of his vehicle, gravel was thrown at him.
At the time, Trudeau said he was injured in his shoulder, and it was also alleged that the stones hit party staff and some journalists.
