The Canadian Ministry of Environment warns Ontario residents to avoid unnecessary travel due to multiple snowfall expected to continue throughout the weekend.

The federal agency has also issued alerts regarding current or expected bad weather in Georgia Bay, including Owen Sound, where 50 to 80 cm of snow is expected by late Sunday, and in Parry Sound / Muskoka, where 10 to 20 cm is expected.

Also, the Canadian Ministry of Environment warned of reduced visibility rates in Lake Nipissing in North Bay and west Nipissing, where 25 to 50 cm of snow is expected by Sunday morning.

Several communities near Lake Ontario have also been informed to prepare as snowfall thickness is expected to range between 10 and 30 cm during the evening or early Sunday morning, including Belleville, Brockville, Kingston, and the Niagara area.

Snowfall, characterized by its mix with stormy winds, is also expected to range from 20 to 30 cm near Simcoe, along Lake Erie.
