Egyptian security officials announced today, Thursday, October 19, 2023, that the Rafah crossing will be opened from the Egyptian side to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza on Friday morning.
The Egyptian "Cairo News" channel reported that the crossing will open on Friday, citing an unnamed Egyptian official, and the timing for the crossing's opening on Friday has not been specified.
It is noted that at the crossing on the Egyptian side, there are 25 trucks carrying ready-to-cross aid.
The road leading to the Egyptian side of the crossing is currently being cleared in preparation for its opening, and tents and toilets were set up on Wednesday night for volunteers who will spend the night at the border.
