The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CBC, reported citing informed sources that the Canadian government will appoint Mary Joseph Hogue from the Quebec Court of Appeal to head a public inquiry into foreign interference from China.
Bloomberg News reported from the agency's report that the appointment for the inquiry is expected to be announced later today, Thursday.
Throughout her career, Hogue has worked at all levels of civil courts in Quebec, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada, and local and international courts.
Canada accuses China of interfering in the recent federal elections.
