The streaming platform Disney + announced on Wednesday that it will take strict action against password sharing in Canada starting November 1.
In an email to subscribers, the platform said it plans to launch a subscription plan supported by ads and update its subscriber agreement.
The email stated: "Additionally, we are implementing restrictions on account sharing."
This move comes after Netflix announced earlier this year a crackdown on password sharing that received swift backlash from subscribers.
According to Disney+, the updates will take effect on November 1, except for annual subscribers in Quebec. Subscribers there will see the update on their next billing date.
Subscribers are also required to switch to a different plan before the new policy takes effect.
