Fox News network revealed tonight that the US Central Intelligence Agency killed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri at the end of last week in a drone strike in the Afghan capital Kabul.

US President Joe Biden will soon deliver a special address to the American nation.

The White House has officially confirmed the death of al-Zawahiri, and two official sources also confirmed to Fox News that al-Zawahiri was the target killed in the Kabul attack.

A US official told Reuters news agency that the operation was successful against an “important Al-Qaeda target in Afghanistan.” He reported that no civilians were injured in the operation, which was successful. Other American officials confirmed that the operation took place in the capital Kabul, and that the CIA carried it out using a drone.
