Yesterday, Friday, March 31, 2023, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it had summoned the Danish ambassador in Ankara to express its strong condemnation and protest against the "repetition of the hate crime against the Quran and its country's flag" in Denmark.
The Turkish government urged the Danish authorities to take the necessary measures against the perpetrators and effective steps to prevent the recurrence of such provocations.
As stated in the ministry's statement: "This act is clear evidence of the increasing Islamophobia, xenophobia, discrimination, and racism that have recently risen in Europe."
It is noted that an extremist and anti-Islam group yesterday, Friday, burned the Turkish flag and the Holy Quran in front of the Ankara embassy in Copenhagen.
The assault was carried out by 5 members of a group called "Patrioterne Gar Live" in Denmark, and it was broadcast live via the group's Facebook account.
The perpetrators of the assault also raised anti-Islam banners, chanting slogans offensive to religion, alongside the burning of the Turkish flag.
