Liverpool club attackers, the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah and the Senegalese Sadio Mané, compete for the Africa Cup of Nations football title on Sunday in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé, after a successful journey with the English club in recent years.

Salah did not need to take his penalty in the semifinals against Cameroon, after the latter's players failed to convert three penalties with the help of the Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal, allowing the Pharaohs to prevail 3-1 after a exhausting 120-minute goalless draw.

24 hours earlier, Mané's Senegal reached the final at the expense of Burkina Faso 3-1, where the 2019 African Player of the Year scored a goal and provided an assist.

True, their German Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp might have preferred an early elimination for both sides in Africa to save their efforts in a crowded schedule, but he expressed his happiness with Salah and Mané's achievement on Cameroonian soil.

He said in a press conference before his match with Cardiff on Sunday in the English Cup, "Reaching the final is a great achievement for the two players."

Klopp continued, "So far the two young men have had a very successful tournament. But now one of them will leave happy and the other sad, and the winner will be able to achieve the accomplishment."
