The federal judiciary in the United States on Thursday, July 28, 2022, charged a couple residing in the United States for decades with conspiracy against the government, impersonating the identities of two deceased children, and an old photo of them was found in Soviet intelligence "KGB" uniforms.
According to the "France Press" agency, the complicated case is overshadowed by suspicions of "espionage," and as a result, Walter Primrose and his wife Gwynn Morrison were arrested a week ago. Both were born in 1955 but impersonated identities that did not belong to them.

According to documents, during the search of the suspects' home, an old photo was found in which they wear Soviet intelligence "KGB" uniforms, which raised suspicions about their recruitment against the government, in addition to other suspicions, according to "France Press".
The federal judge ordered on Thursday to continue detaining the defendant who worked in the Coast Guard for 20 years; fearing that he might leave the country by air, while his wife will appear before the judge next week.
According to the indictment, the couple studied in Texas, USA, during the 1970s, and married there in 1980, but for "unknown" reasons, in 1987 they impersonated identities belonging to deceased children; namely Bobby Fort and Julie Montague.
The indictment also indicated that the two children had died years before the impersonation, and they are buried in nearby cemeteries.
20 years in the Coast Guard
Following the impersonation, the couple remarried in 1988 with their new identities. In 1994, "Bobby Fort" joined the Coast Guard and served for 20 years before becoming a contractor with the Department of Defense.
Over the years, the couple obtained many official documents for the stolen identities including driver's licenses and many passports.
While the indictment does not mention any suspicion of espionage, a document submitted to reject their parole request indicates that the case is complicated, according to "France Press".
Alleged Russian spies lived in Kapolei for years. Federal agents said KGB agents Walter Primose & Gwynn Morrison, stole the identities of dead babies from Texas in the 80's. Primrose then joined the Coast Guard. More here: https://t.co/U5wdWGxnMy #hawaiinewsnow pic.twitter.com/eFNqw6jqdS

Federal prosecutor Claire Connors said that "federal investigators seized messages" addressed to the couple "referring to the defendants by names other than Bobby, Julie, Walter, or Gwynn."
Investigators also found photos of the couple in Soviet intelligence "KGB" uniforms, while a relative of Morrison told investigators that she lived in Romania when it was still part of the communist bloc.
As for Primrose, during his contract period with the Pentagon, he was required to report all his foreign trips, but he refrained from doing so for several trips to Canada, according to the prosecutor.
Morrison's lawyer, Megan Cow, stated briefly to France Press that her client denied the charges.
