The appointed Premier of Manitoba, Wab Kinew, took the oath this morning, Wednesday at 10 AM, in a ceremony held at The Leaf in Winnipeg.
Kinew will then become the twenty-fifth Premier of the province. He will also announce the composition of his Cabinet.
On Tuesday, during the annual general meeting of the Manitoba Chiefs Council, Wab Kinew told the attendees that at least two Indigenous women would be part of it.
This will be the first time an Indigenous woman serves as a minister in Manitoba's 153-year history.
