The "Telegraph" reported that an unnamed source said he heard from a foreign official that his government expects Joe Biden not to run in the 2024 presidential elections, and Michelle Obama would be the most likely choice for the Democratic Party.

Journalist Tim Stanley stated in his article that this confirms what he heard from British sources who said that governments feel they are dealing with the face of the current administration when dealing with Biden, and thus, if the Democrats drop him from the presidential race, the world will understand the matter.

From Stanley's perspective, having Michelle Obama in the position means the continuation of the political line of the Democrats from 2008 to 2024, which was interrupted by former President Donald Trump, something that Democrats consider a "temporary deviation."

The writer believes that Kamala Harris, the current vice president, is not fit to lead the country, and that the competition would be between "unpopular" candidates, namely Biden, who is "unpopular" and aging, and Donald Trump, who faces numerous legal issues.

Stanley noted that polls regarding Michelle are positive, as she has published two best-selling books about her autobiography and feminine wisdom, worked in the White House, and is well-known by everyone.

Low Approval Ratings

A survey conducted by "Reuters-Ipsos" last week showed that the popularity of U.S. President Joe Biden remains stable at 40 percent in early August, as concerns about the economy lead to negative opinions among Americans regarding his performance.

The result of the survey, which was conducted over three days online, matches the result of a survey conducted in July at 40 percent, where Americans were asked whether they support Biden's performance or not.

Fifty-four percent of respondents said they are dissatisfied with the performance of the Democratic president, while six percent answered that they are uncertain or chose not to respond.

Concerns about the economy, unemployment, and jobs continue to be the main issues troubling Americans, with one in five participants stating that these are the most important problems facing the United States at the moment.

Sixty percent of Americans, including one in three Democrats, said they are dissatisfied with Biden's handling of the inflation problem.

Senior officials in the Biden administration, as well as Biden himself, have begun appearing at events across the country to try to highlight recent economic gains, which the White House claims are evidence of success for what they refer to as the "Biden Economy" agenda.

A separate survey conducted by "Reuters-Ipsos" last week concluded that concerns over the economy may cost Biden the 2024 election when he is likely to face former Republican President Donald Trump again.

One in five participants who voted for Biden in 2020 said they are uncertain who they will vote for this time.

Allegations Target Trump

Former U.S. President Donald Trump condemned the legal actions targeting him, indicating that they threaten the fate of his campaign. Trump also stated that appearing in court will keep him away from the campaign for long periods next year.

In a speech delivered in New Hampshire, Trump described the allegations against him as fabricated, noting that those who are accusing him fear his chances of winning the Republican presidential nomination, especially after he has topped the polls in this regard.
