The Ministry of National Defense in Taiwan announced today, Monday, that it had detected approximately 26 military aircraft belonging to the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China near the Taiwanese island.

In this regard, the ministry mentioned that about 11 aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering the air defense identification zone of the island.

Additionally, the Ministry of Defense revealed that it had detected 31 vessels belonging to the Chinese naval forces near the disputed area.

According to the statement, Taiwan's Ministry sent air and maritime patrols to monitor the situation, alongside ground-based missile systems.

Last month, the Ministry of National Defense in Taiwan revealed that it had detected 11 military fighter jets belonging to the air force inside China within its own air defense zone, as well as the presence of 5 Chinese warships in the territorial waters under the sovereignty of the independent island.

The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense also added that it had detected a total of 25 military aircraft belonging to the Chinese fleet conducting military training operations in the East China Sea on the borders of Taiwan's territorial waters, around 09:00 AM Taiwan time.

The island's military authorities – which China considers an independent part of its territory – indicated that these aircraft included fighters of the J-10 and J-16 models, in addition to the presence of H-6 bombers during the People's Republic's operations.
