The police have identified a man wanted on a second-degree murder charge in connection with a shooting incident in Toronto last month.
The police had received a call regarding an unknown issue in the Queen Street West area between Portland Street and Augusta Street on the edge of the city's fashion district on October 22 just before 1 a.m.
The police said witnesses at the time heard gunshots and saw several people leaving the area. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man shot outside on the ground, who was later pronounced dead at the scene and identified as 38-year-old Peter Alexandros Madimenos, marking the city's 57th homicide victim of the year.
Meanwhile, no suspicious information was disclosed at the time. However, in a press release issued on Thursday, police identified 28-year-old Sargis Sogutlu from Toronto as a suspect, with Sogutlu wanted on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the shooting.
Investigators said he is believed to be armed and dangerous, appealing: "If found, do not approach. Call 911 immediately."
Also, the police released a photo of Sogutlu in an attempt to locate him.
Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to contact Toronto Police at 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.222tips.com.
