In a surprising decision, Canada has urged its citizens in Lebanon to leave the country.
In this context, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said that Canadians in Lebanon should consider leaving while commercial flights are still available. The Canadian minister added in a post on the X platform, "As the crisis in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel continues, the security situation in the region has become increasingly volatile."
This decision surprised several political analysts and strategists who linked it to the impending outbreak of a new conflict in the region between Israel and Lebanon.
