Canadian-Egyptian MP, Sherif Sabawy, is preparing to run in the parliamentary elections in Ontario for a second term representing the Conservative Party, scheduled to be held on June 2nd, four years after the last elections in the province.

A few days ago, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced the start of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada's election campaign, amid a large presence of the Egyptian community to support Sabawy's re-election bid.

Sherif Sabawy is leading a strong campaign to be re-elected to parliament in the elections scheduled for June 2nd, using various promotional methods in different media outlets and social media platforms to introduce himself and his election platform.

Among the election publicity methods, Sabawy leads a campaign of door-to-door visits to voters in the province to urge them to vote for him.

Sabawy, who is considered the first MP of Egyptian descent in Canada, told "Sky News Arabia" in an exclusive interview that "this is the second time running for elections at the Ontario provincial level, and if I win, it will be a historic first in the history of the community in Canada."

Sabawy is contesting the elections amidst competition from 7 candidates, including two candidates from the New Democratic Party, the first of Lebanese origin and the second of Somali origin.

Sabawy spoke about the features of his election platform, saying: "My program is the Conservative Party's program, currently based on encouraging the business sector and small companies, and increasing spending on infrastructure in health, roads, and transportation."

The Canadian-Egyptian candidate predicted his victory in the upcoming elections, according to early indicators and opinion polls.
