The district is changing visitation principles in care homes, clinics, and other care places.
In a press release, Shared Health Manitoba said it found evidence of decreased COVID-19 transmission levels across several areas, including reduced hospitalization rates, cases in care homes as well as reduced staff time.
As a result, the organization is adjusting restrictions to allow more freedom of visitation and care.
Starting Thursday, June 30, 2022, the number of designated caregivers involved in the patient's daily care will increase from two to up to four.
Designated caregivers will also no longer be required to wear eye protection during visits or while caring for their loved ones, and care homes will provide greater space for social visitors.
Masks are no longer required at outdoor appointments, but must still be worn indoors.
