Gasoline prices in Montreal shattered records for weeks, reaching a new high of $2.24 per liter on Saturday, but the price watcher expects gasoline prices to drop next week.
Dan McTeague from Gas Wizard expects the decline to continue until Wednesday, meaning a good opportunity to fill up cars before fuel costs start to rise again.
CAA Quebec also encourages drivers to fill their tanks, noting that as of Saturday, the average price per liter in the province is below the market value.
And a welcome drop of 3 cents a litre Sunday to 212.9 cts/l that will hold until Wednesday https://t.co/PEsEqDcbvK

According to Gas Buddy, the cheapest gas in and around Montreal can be found at Candiac Costco, where gasoline is sold for $2.12 per liter, and Costco in Anjou sells fuel at $2.14 per liter, placing it in second place.
Three gas stations in Kanawack — Harneau, Big Bear Trading Post, and the Central Station — also reported a gasoline price of $2.14 per liter.
While the price in Wellington in Verdun reached $2.19 per liter, which is five cents less than the regional average.
Of course, prices are still far from the less than $1 per liter that many paid during the pandemic before inflation flared up in Quebec.
At this time last year, gasoline cost about $1.31 per liter, according to CAA-National, which is a difference of 93 cents compared to the average cost per liter in Quebec on June 11.
It is worth noting that experts expect gasoline prices to continue rising in the coming months.
