Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is heading to Jamaica next week for a family holiday during the Christmas break.
The Prime Minister's Office says Trudeau will travel with his immediate family to the Caribbean nation from December 26 to January 4.
Jamaica is also where Trudeau and his family spent some time after last Christmas, while they traveled to British Columbia for their summer vacation in August this year.
Sophie Grégoire Trudeau will travel with him, after the couple announced earlier this year that they had separated after 18 years of marriage.
At that time, the Prime Minister's Office said Canadians could expect to see the family together, and both said in individual statements that they would remain close.
The office says it consulted the federal ethics commissioner before the upcoming trip, and that the family will cover the cost of their stay in addition to reimbursing travel costs on a government plane.
Trudeau will also stay in touch with staff and receive briefings on current issues.
