The Ontario Provincial Police and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) have launched an investigation into a small plane crash in Ontario, east of Ottawa.
The safety board stated that a Cessna 150 crashed in Alexandria on Wednesday afternoon. The federal agency dispatched a team of investigators to gather information about the incident.
The provincial police also stated that it occurred on Power Dam Road, where Alexandria Airport is located, after 1 PM.
The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Power Dam Road has also been closed for the investigation, with police asking residents to avoid the area until further notice.
