As a second Canadian military plane landed in Tel Aviv to evacuate Canadian citizens to Athens, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on October 12th a "preliminary" humanitarian aid of $10 million for Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip.
Trudeau said during a press conference in Yellowknife: "The safety of Canadians at home and abroad is always our top priority. The situation on the ground is volatile, and we continue to assist our citizens and permanent residents in returning to Canada."
Prior to this, an initial return flight by the Canadian Air Force transported nearly 130 passengers from Tel Aviv to the Greek capital, where they can board a commercial flight to Toronto.
"We will continue to be there to support Canadians who need help," announced Federal Minister of National Defence, Bill Blair, who made this statement on the social media platform X.
