The Israeli army said today, Tuesday, that it has begun ground operations in the western sector of southern Lebanon, expanding its incursion into a new area after a year of gunfire exchanges with "Hezbollah" and amid United Nations calls for a diplomatic solution.

In the field as well, the Israeli warplanes continued their bombardment of several areas in Lebanon, particularly in the south, the Bekaa Valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut. It stated that it killed Suhail Hussein Hassani, head of the party's General Staff, during an airstrike on Beirut. If Hassani's death is confirmed, he will join the ranks of the party and "Hamas" leaders assassinated by Israel as part of its strategy to deliver strong blows to both.

Naeem Qassem, the deputy secretary-general of "Hezbollah," said today that the party supports efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the country without mentioning the truce in Gaza as a condition, marking the first time he has done so. He said, "In any case, once the issue of the ceasefire is established and diplomacy can reach it, all other details will be discussed and decisions will be made in cooperation." He added, "If the enemy continues its war, the field will decide, and we are the people of the field and will not beg for a solution."

Today, Iran warned Israel against launching any attack on it, following a week after Tehran launched a barrage of missiles at Israel, putting the Middle East on the brink. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that any attack on Iranian infrastructure will be met with a response, and warned Israel against launching an attack on Iran.
