Hundreds of pro-Palestine supporters protested yesterday, Thursday, in front of an event held by Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly at a hotel in Montreal to raise funds to support Israel.
Videos posted on social media showed protesters chanting for freedom for Palestine, holding the Palestinian flag and signs demanding a ceasefire, while condemning the Israeli occupation's crimes in Gaza.
One participant in the protest tweeted that more than 300 Canadian citizens gathered to protest this event, which featured giving $1200 to each person to support Israel.
He added: Despite the temperature of 15 degrees below zero, the protesters stayed for 3 hours to denounce the position of the Canadian Foreign Minister because she allowed unimaginable levels of Israeli brutality, in addition to her fundraising campaign to kill Palestinian children.
Dimitri Laskaris, one of the Canadian journalists supporting the Palestinian cause, tweeted: Melanie Joly held a lavish fundraising party at a luxury hotel in Montreal while Israel continues to target unarmed civilians.
He added, “But conscientious citizens showed up strongly to condemn Joly for her involvement in the Israeli genocide.”
The Canadian Foreign Minister is known for her full support of Israel and never misses an opportunity to announce that. Especially since she made an official visit to Israel at the beginning of the war to offer support in its war against Gaza.
