Iran is subjected to a large number of earthquakes, which causes panic and fear among the population, especially with the occurrence of four earthquakes, ranging in magnitude from three to 4.6 on the Richter scale at Jarak Port, in western Hormozgan Province in southern Iran, early this Saturday.

The Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute at the University of Tehran reported that from 4:45 to 5:25 AM, this area was hit by 4 earthquakes with magnitudes of 3 to 4.6 on the Richter scale, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Jarak Port is located north of Qeshm Island in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran.

No reports have yet been received regarding any damage caused by these earthquakes.

Iran experiences earthquakes repeatedly due to its location in a collision zone between tectonic plates located directly beneath the Earth's crust, the deadliest of which was a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the northwest of the country in 1990, causing 37,000 deaths and 100,000 injuries.
