The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, revealed in a post he published on his account on the ''X'' platform yesterday, Saturday, that "4 out of 5 of the hungriest people in the world are in the Gaza Strip."
He added: "With the intensification of the conflict and the increasing terror in Gaza, we will continue to do our part... and we will not give up."
Meanwhile, the UN Security Council adopted on Friday a resolution calling for urgent steps to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and to create conditions for a ceasefire.
The United Nations also said on its website: ''With the support of 13 members, and the abstention of the United States and Russia from voting, the UN Security Council adopted resolution number 2720 on Gaza and Israel.''
Following the adoption of the resolution, Guterres confirmed the United Nations' support for everything that leads to improving the delivery of aid to Gaza.
