A man was killed in Utah by FBI agents who came to his home to execute a warrant issued against him for allegedly threatening to assassinate President Joe Biden, just hours before his scheduled visit to the state in the western United States.
The FBI confirmed the death of a suspect during an attempt by its agents to execute a search warrant for his home and arrest him, but the bureau refused to disclose the identity of the deceased as the investigation is still ongoing. However, a complaint previously filed by federal prosecutors in Utah mentioned that his name was Craig Robertson and he was in his early seventies.
The complaint indicated that Robertson, who describes himself as a "Trump supporter," had repeatedly threatened Biden and other officials on social media. In a post this week, Robertson wrote, "I heard Biden is coming to Utah," adding, "I will dust off a sniper rifle, model M24." He continued, "Welcome, you clown."
In addition to Biden, the complaint noted that Robertson also made threats against Vice President Kamala Harris and Attorney General Merrick Garland. The suspect wrote in one of his posts: "The time is right for a presidential assassination or two," adding, "Joe first, then Kamala."
He also threatened to shoot Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who charged former President Donald Trump with paying hush money on the eve of the election to silence a porn star. The complaint included photos that Robertson posted on social media of a large array of weapons, including a semi-automatic rifle he called "Democrat Death Dealer."
