Federal Conservatives say that liberal legislation for dental care and rental housing relief will only increase inflation without providing relief from rising living costs. Members of Parliament are discussing the government's legislation today to establish an annual dental compensation of $650 for low- and middle-income families for each child under 12 years old. The New Democratic Party also calls on Polievre and the Conservatives to oppose dental benefits for children while MPs enjoy comprehensive coverage. Sheer said that the Conservative caucus will support the Goods and Services Tax rebate plan, but this is unlikely to happen since the New Democratic Party and Liberals will vote in favor of passing the bill. Both initiatives were supported by the New Democratic Party in exchange for its agreement to support the government in key votes until 2025.
