At least five people have died in floods that hit two Turkish provinces devastated by last month's earthquake, as the natural disaster increased the suffering of thousands who became homeless.
Naaman Khatiboglu, governor of Adiyaman Province, said that one person died in the town of Tut in southeastern Turkey, where floodwaters swept away a house housing a group of earthquake survivors, and 4 people are still missing.
Saleh Ayhan, governor of Sanliurfa Province, also confirmed to "Haber Turk" television that 4 people died and two rescue workers were lost due to the floods.
Television footage from Sanliurfa showed floodwaters flowing along the street and sweeping cars away.
The authorities evacuated many people from a camp flooded by the floodwaters in Sanliurfa, where earthquake survivors were sheltering in tents.
