The Canadian Ministry of Health has approved a bivalent vaccine produced by Pfizer, which specifically targets the Omicron variant, currently the dominant strain worldwide. The vaccine also specifically addresses the BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants of the Omicron variant. The Canadian Ministry of Health had previously approved the bivalent COVID-19 booster from Moderna before licensing the Pfizer vaccine.
