Canada imposes sanctions on 21 organizations and 42 Russian individuals.

The Canadian Foreign Ministry announced the addition of 21 organizations and 42 Russian individuals to the sanctions lists imposed against Moscow.

Among the organizations targeted by the Canadian sanctions are the newspapers "Izvestia" and "Komsomolskaya Pravda," the "Valdai" Club, the National Research Committee for "BRICS," the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and others.

The sanctions also included the following individuals: Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Anton Kotyakov, political scientists Fyodor Lukyanov, Andrei Kortunov, Dmitry Trenin, Dean of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Anatoly Torkunov, Head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Residents Abroad, and Humanitarian International Cooperation, Yevgeny Primakov, among others.

Additionally, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today, during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the capital Ottawa, a new aid package worth 650 million Canadian dollars for Kyiv.

Canadian aid to Ukraine has now exceeded 1.3 billion dollars in military assistance, including "Leopard 2" tanks, air defense systems, artillery, anti-tank weapons, drones, and other equipment. It has also trained more than 36,000 Ukrainian soldiers.
