The Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva described the war waged by the occupying entity on the Gaza Strip as genocide.
In televised statements, da Silva said yesterday, Wednesday, that this is not about arguing over who was right and who was wrong, or who shot first and who shot later, but rather that this is not a war; this is genocide, and its victims have nothing to do with what is happening.
Additionally, the Brazilian president, whose country currently holds the presidency of the United Nations Security Council, stated on Tuesday that the attack launched by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, in the Al-Aqsa Flood operation does not give the occupying entity the right "to kill millions of innocent people."
He added that "his role is to work towards making negotiations possible" with the aim of reaching a ceasefire.
Da Silva also criticized the weak role of the United Nations and reiterated the necessity of "establishing a humanitarian corridor to ensure fuel supplies for hospitals and allow international humanitarian aid, which started to reach Gaza in very small quantities on Saturday."
