The UAE announced sending a relief plane carrying 100 tons of power generators for civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, to help them cope with the harsh winter conditions.
The Emirati news agency "WAM" stated today that the aid includes 1640 home power generators, each ranging in capacity from 3.5 kW to 8 kW, contributing to providing energy to the homes of civilians.
For his part, the UAE Ambassador to Poland, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Harbi, confirmed that this aid comes as part of the continuous relief support from the UAE, to help alleviate the humanitarian repercussions faced by the friendly Ukrainian people as a result of the current crisis, reflecting the UAE's deeply rooted values in providing support and relief to peoples in times of need.
Meanwhile, the Director of Support and Humanitarian Aid at the International Affairs Office of the Presidential Court, and the official responsible for the aid file, Majid bin Kamal, said that the UAE will continue sending other shipments including aid for the education and health sectors, alongside completing the winter aid during this month and the beginning of the new year, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE has provided urgent relief supplies to the affected civilians in Ukraine, including humanitarian relief aid worth 100 million US dollars, and has launched an air bridge that included sending 12 planes so far carrying about 714 tons of relief supplies, essential food and medical materials, 2520 electric generators, 60 ambulances, 2500 laptops, and 10,000 school bags.
