Multiple flights have been canceled and delayed at Toronto Pearson International Airport due to a winter storm that hit the Vancouver area.
As of 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, 10 flights scheduled to arrive in Toronto from Vancouver have been canceled. One flight departing from Pearson Airport to Vancouver was also canceled.
Travelers departing from Vancouver International Airport face hours of delays and cancellations due to a snowstorm that left tens of thousands of households without electricity.
In the same context, 16 flights scheduled to depart Vancouver and arrive in Toronto on Tuesday were canceled, while all flights departing Pearson to Vancouver were canceled except for one flight.
Pearson Airport urged all travelers to check their flights before arriving.
Also, delays are expected to continue the next day, as Vancouver International Airport said they would "temporarily restrict international flight arrivals for about 48 hours" starting at 7 a.m. today.
Pearson Airport expects around 130,000 passengers to pass through the airport each day this week due to the holiday season.
