German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said today, Friday, that supporters of the (Hamas) movement should be deported from the country as long as it is possible, adding that authorities will closely monitor potential threats in the wake of the Palestinian Hamas attack on Israel.
Faeser continued after talks with officials from the Federal Criminal Police Office, “If we can deport Hamas supporters, we must do so.”
Meanwhile, members of the large Palestinian community in Germany said that the ban on demonstrations makes their voices unheard.
A statement issued by the prosecutor's office noted that prosecutors in Munich issued a warrant today to search the home of a 38-year-old German citizen due to a post on Instagram in which he defended the Hamas attack.
Faeser also announced that more than 100 police officers have been injured in the German capital since the onset of pro-Palestinian protests.
